Christian communities in Iraq have been suffering from a demographic hemorrhage due to conflicts raging since 2003. Figures indicate a reduction from 1.5 million to 250,000 Christians. The influence of pro-Iranian Shiite groups, sectarian divisions and the absence of the rule of law have exacerbated this situation. Rebuilding interreligious ties and citizenship is crucial in order to overcome these geopolitical challenges and ensure the future.
