Municipal employees and municipalities unions in Lebanon have jointly declared a cautionary general strike scheduled for Monday.
They are calling on the Lebanese government to address issues of fairness for municipal employees and their unions, seeking equal treatment in comparison to other public administration employees.
The strike is set to coincide with a protest by municipal employees at 10:00 AM in front of municipality buildings and their respective unions.
“We regretfully inform all citizens that due to circumstances beyond our control, we are compelled to cease work and suspend services to the public on Monday. We intend to resume work on Tuesday morning,” announced the employees.
