48 full-time faculty members of the American University of Beirut (AUB) have been named in the top 2% of the world’s most cited researchers.
The ranking is featured in the 2023 edition of the annual database “Updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators.”
The 48 faculty members represent six distinct faculties and schools, demonstrating the university’s expertise in interdisciplinary research.
There are 23 individuals from the Faculty of Medicine (FM), 10 from the Maroun Semaan Faculty of Engineering and Architecture (MSFEA), 8 from the Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS), 3 from the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS), 1 from the Suliman S. Olayan School of Business (OSB), and 3 from the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences (FAFS).
34 faculty members have been recognized for their lifetime accomplishments within this group, making up 60% of Lebanon’s top 2% of most cited researchers in this category.
36 other AUB faculty members were recognized for their 2022 citation impact, making up 51% of Lebanon’s top 2% of most cited researchers in this category.
