Caretaker Minister of Public Works and Transport Ali Hamieh announced on his X account that the Ministry has started to actively clean out the sewer system.
Captioning a series of photos of workers cleaning the sewer system, Hamieh wrote, “The Ministry of Public Works and Transport’s contractors are still working on cleaning and insulating rainwater drains.”
“The main problem is that the sewer system will be once again be full of trash in a week or so,” he went on to say.
The cleaning process is tackling roads from Jounieh to North Lebanon, from Khalde to South Lebanon, as well as the Beqaa highways, Hamieh added.
