The Central Administration of Statistics (CAS) reported on Tuesday that the consumer price index in Lebanon for August 2023 recorded an increase of 0.9% compared with July 2023. A moderate increase compared with the rebounds of the other months of the year (March 33.27% or May 5.35%).

This index also rose by 229.8% year-on-year, ACS said in a press release.

The biggest increases were noted in the governorate of Nabatiye (2.1%), followed by Bekaa (2%), Beirut (1.7%), Mount Lebanon (1.4%), North Lebanon (0.8%) and South Lebanon (0.5%).
