During the Council of Ministers to be held next Wednesday, September 6, the ministers will work on an agenda of 23 articles.

Among these points is the thorny subject of the opening of a line of credit relating to the payment of the fuel ordered to run the power plants of Electricité du Liban (EDL). This fuel had been ordered by the caretaker Minister of Energy, Walid Fayad, without having obtained the approval of the ministerial commission in charge of electricity.

On the same subject, the cabinet will examine the Minister of Energy’s request to renew Iraq’s fuel supply contract, under which Iraq should supply 1.5 million metric tons per year to Lebanon.
