The head of Hezbollah’s executive council, Hashem Safieddine, said that “the works of Wilayat al-Fakih have empowered the Islamic world for the sake of the people’s benefits, and we have witnessed a religious renaissance that has benefited all the Muslims and Arabs.”

During the scientific conference on the ideology of Sheikh Ali bin Abdul Aali al-Karaki, organized by the Imam Sadiq Association in Baalbeck – Karak Nuh, Safieddine clarified that “while some are persistent on targeting us, knowing that our silence is not a sign of weakness, our country Lebanon is wounded and afflicted. We always call for dialogue and convergence, and we always call for avoiding sterile debates.”

Safieddine pointed out that, “in the leadership of Hezbollah, we have never discussed the matter of amending the Taif Accord, not even once,” indicating that when there is a decision in Lebanon regarding this issue, “we will be the last to express our opinion.” Safieddine affirmed that “the current phase requires realistic solutions that unite the Lebanese people, and that it is not a phase for sterile debates that tempt foreign interference.”
