The Sovereign Front for Lebanon announced on Saturday that they filed a complaint at the Military Tribunal against “armed members who executed a military drill in southern Lebanon on May 21, when armed Hezbollah militants paraded in front of the cameras of media agencies in military attire.”

The Front, in a press communiqué, called on the Military Tribunal, which usually “condemns wearing military uniforms,” to “summon the 300 fully armed militia men and interrogate them.” This was a hint to the recent summoning of retired Brigadier General Georges Nader for wearing military attire while no longer on active duty.

The Front went on to express their full solidarity with William Noun and Peter Bou Saab, brothers of Joe Noun and Joe Bou Saab, two firefighters who were killed in the Beirut blast on August 4, 2020.

The two young men were called in for questioning by the Information Branch of the Internal Security Forces (ISF) on Wednesday for setting tires on fire in the vicinity of the Justice Palace last Thursday during a sit-in for the families of the Beirut blast victims. “A state that only exercises its power over Peter and William is not a state,” head of the Change Movement Elie Mahfoud said.
