Lebanon has launched a call for tenders for the purchase of 30 thousand tons of wheat flour.

In this regard, European traders revealed on Wednesday that the Lebanese government had launched an international call for tenders for the purchase of 30,000 tonnes of wheat flour indicating that Lebanon had requested immediate shipment of the cereal.

The World Bank (WB) will finance the tender as part of its wheat purchase program to help Lebanon.

These remarks were confirmed to This is Beirut by sources at the Ministry of Economy.

The deadline for submitting bids is December 5.

It should be recalled in this context that Lebanon and the World Bank concluded an agreement worth a total of $150 million to preserve food security in Lebanon, through support for wheat imports.
