Emmanuel Sebaali is a brilliant 16-year-old Lebanese pianist. He recently attended masterclasses by Abdel Rahman El Bacha and Frédéric Vaysse Knitter at Beit Tabaris (Beirut). He then flew to Sicily in order to participate in the International Festival and Competition of Piano and Lyric Singing, founded by pianists Giacomo Scinardo and Yin Zheng.

Emmanuel received an honorable mention from the jury following his performance during the Aspiring Musicians closing competition for the under-18 category. He interpreted Prelude and Fugue No. 2 by JS Bach’s second book, known as The Well-Tempered Clavier, as well as The Nocturnes, Opus 48 by F. Chopin. This major event in European musical life brings together teachers and students from all around the world (USA, China, Germany, Italy, Great Britain, Belgium, Netherlands, France, Russia, Turkey, Lebanon). During this one-week gathering, the city of Syracuse hosts several educational sessions.

Considering his brilliant academic record, Emmanuel received a scholarship to participate in this international festival. According to the founders of the festival, the aim of the event is to “reconnect with heritage, build bridges, open up to others and establish bonds with musical culture through piano and lyric singing.”
