The Lebanese General Directorate of Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division announced in an official statement on Wednesday a series of coordinated operations targeting drug trafficking networks operating across borders.

According to the statement, the operation was carried out as part of ongoing efforts by the Central Anti-Narcotics Office within the Judicial Police Unit to pursue individuals involved in narcotics crimes.

Through coordination with the Syrian Anti-Narcotics Department, Lebanese authorities received intelligence indicating that a wanted Lebanese individual was located in Syria while conducting administrative procedures.

The suspect, identified as F.F., born in 1976, is wanted by the Lebanese judiciary for multiple drug trafficking offenses, particularly involving Captagon and cannabis resin. He was subject to a final judgment, an arrest warrant, and a detention order.

In a separate operation, the Syrian Central Anti-Narcotics Office, in coordination with the Kuwaiti Criminal Security Office through the Kuwaiti Embassy and Syrian anti-narcotics authorities, succeeded in dismantling an international drug trafficking network.

The operation led to the arrest of the network’s mastermind and his associate, as well as the seizure of approximately 85 kilograms of Captagon pills, equivalent to around 476,000 tablets. Authorities stated that the drugs were professionally concealed and were prepared for smuggling into the State of Kuwait.
