- IRGC Signals Retaliation Against ‘Murderers’ of Khamenei as State TV Acknowledges Khamenei’s Death

The Iranian Revolutionary Guards have threatened retaliation against the “murderers” of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as Iranian state TV acknowledges his death.
An IRGC statement said that “The hand of revenge of the Iranian nation for a severe, decisive and regrettable punishment for the murderers of the Imam.”
After the IRGC’s release, Iranian media stated that Iran is preparing to carry out further strikes on Israel and U.S. bases shortly, which it describes as “the most intense operation.”
”The most ferocious offensive operation in the history of the Islamic Republic of Iran's armed forces will begin any moment now,” said an IRGC announcement on telegram.
The Iranian Presidency also stated that Iran will retaliate with force following the killing of Khamenei, expressing that it is a crime that will not go unanswered, according to al-Watan.
On Sunday at 5:00 am local time in Iran, Iranian state TV announced Khamenei’s death with a black banner, announcing a 40-day period of mourning and seven public holidays following his death, according to AFP.
Iranian state TV’s message was that Khamenei’s “path and mission neither will be lost nor will be forgotten, on the other hand, they will be pursued with greater vigour and zeal.”
