Israel on Sunday evening struck a residential building in Kfar Hata in Saida, which lies north of the Litani River, claiming to strike an underground site used to store Hezbollah terrorist weapons.

The building was inspected by the Lebanese Army and UN peacekeepers who disproved Israel’s claims that it was being used by Hezbollah. The attack came after it launched over 25 strikes on southern Lebanon within just 30 minutes. According to Lebanese authorities, one person was killed.

Israeli Military Spokesperson Avichay Adraee stated on X that the underground site that was struck was first attacked about a week ago after the IDF had warned the Lebanese army of terrorirst activity within the site. “Lebanese army forces inspected the site, but the terrorist infrastructure was not completely dismantled, and therefore the IDF attacked the site again today,” the statement said.

Sunday evening, the IDF also claimed to target a Hezbollah operative in a vehicle in the southern town of Nabatieh. Israel claimed the target was preparing to rebuild Hezbollah military infrastructure. According to Lebanon’s National News Agency, one person was killed in the attack.

The attacks came days after the Lebanese military said it had completed disarming Hezbollah south of the Litani River, the first phase of a nationwide plan, though Israel has called those efforts insufficient.
