In a new security development, and for the first time since the ceasefire took effect, Israeli media reported Monday the first violation of the ceasefire agreement from the Lebanese side.
It indicated that two rockets were launched from Lebanon toward Mount Dov landing in an open area, with reports of two explosions heard near the Rweissat al-Alam site in the Kfarchouba heights.
Later on, Hezbollah issued a statement confirming that it carried out “a preliminary defensive warning strike on Monday evening on the Rweissat al-Alam site in the occupied Kfarchouba hills of Lebanon.”
The statement claimed that the strike came “following repeated violations of the ceasefire agreement by the Israeli army since its implementation at dawn on Wednesday, November 27, 2024.”
“The violations have taken various forms, including firing on civilians, airstrikes in different parts of Lebanon and continued breaching of Lebanese airspace by hostile Israeli aircraft, even reaching the capital, Beirut.
“Given unsuccessful attempts to address the Israeli violations, a warning has been given, and those warned bear the consequences,” the statement added.
Moreover, Israeli Channel 12 reported that Former Minister in the War Council, Benny Gantz, called for striking targets belonging to the Lebanese state in response to what he described as Hezbollah's violation of the ceasefire.
