South Lebanon: Renewed Bombardments on the First Day of the New Year
On the first day of the new year, Israel bombed the outskirts of Bint Jbeil and Maroun al-Ras, as well as Wadi Hamoul.

On Monday morning, Israeli reconnaissance aircraft flew at medium altitude over the villages of Hasbaya and the western and central sectors. They also flew over the town of Hermel and the villages of the caza.

On New Year's Eve, a precarious calm prevailed during the evening in the Arnoun and Hasbaya areas, where the majority of inhabitants stayed at home. The Lebanese Army and security forces were deployed in the area. Israel continued its bombardments, striking the villages of Dahr al-Jabal and Al-Jabine at around 1 AM. At around 10 PM, they also bombed the villages of Tayr Harfa and, again, Al-Jabine.

Reconnaissance aircraft overflew the western and central regions, as well as the coast and the city of Tyre, throughout the night and into the morning.

The Israeli Army also dropped flare bombs over the border villages adjacent to the Blue Line from Naqoura to Ramya, Al-Qozah, Debel, Ain Ebel and Aita al-Shaab.
