The Association of Banks in Lebanon (ABL) announced on Thursday that it will reinstate precautionary measures starting Friday. In a statement, it strongly condemned “the systematic attacks to which banks have been exposed in recent days” and “deplored the inaction of the State and its institutions in the face of these aggressions.”

“The ABL, understanding the concerns of its employees, is compelled to reintroduce strict precautionary and organizational measures, starting tomorrow morning, Friday, July 21, 2023, until further notice,” the statement emphasized.

“Banks will continue to provide minimal services at their branches and through ATMs (Automatic Teller Machines). However, it is possible that some branches may temporarily close if necessary,” the ABL concluded.
