The Lebanese athletics delegation showed off their talent at the five-day Under-23 Arab Championships in Ismailia, Egypt.

The young Lebanese athletes demonstrated their excellence in the queen of disciplines, showing a clear improvement over nations with greater resources and world champions.

A Harvest of Medals

Lebanon won two gold, five silver, and three bronze medals, in addition to a new national record in the women’s 4 x 100-meter relay.

– Marc Anthony Ibrahim: 400m in 48.08 seconds in the semi-final, and 47.35 seconds in the final – Bronze medal ; 400m hurdles: semi-final in 54.29 seconds, final in 49.94 seconds – Gold medal

– Racha Badrani: 400m in 55.16 seconds – Silver medal ; 400m hurdles in 59.60 seconds – Gold medal

– Tamer Saleh: 100m in 10.41 seconds in semi-final, final in 10.32 seconds – Bronze medal ; 200m in 21.25 seconds in semi-final, final in 21.01 seconds – Silver medal

– Mayssa Mouawad: 100m in 11.64 seconds in final – Silver medal ; 200m in 24.07 seconds – Silver medal

– Haya kobrosly: 100m in 11.95 seconds in final – Bronze medal ; 200m in 24.91 seconds in final

– Ammar Hammoud: 110m hurdles in 15.37 seconds, 4th place

– Lynn Ghazawi: 400m in 1:01.73

– Women’s 4 x 100m relay: 46.91 seconds, new national record, team composed of Haya Kobrosly, Lynn Ghazawi, Racha Badrani and Mayssa Mouawad – Silver medal

A Warm Welcome in Beirut

Back in Beirut, the delegation received a warm welcome at Rafic Hariri International Airport from Roland Saadeh, President of the Lebanese Athletics Federation, members of the Federation and the athletes’ families.
