The Lebanese men’s basketball team left on Sunday morning for Valencia, Spain, to participate in the Olympic playoffs to qualify for the basketball competition at the Summer Olympics, which will be hosted by the French capital Paris between July 26 and August 11.

The following are the names of the delegation members: Maroun Jibrayil (head coach), Eddy Abi Zakhem (team manager), Serbian Miodrag Perisic (coach), Serbian Marko Filipovic and Ralph Akl (assistant coaches), Khalil Nassar (physiotherapist), Pierre Felfli (fitness coach), Dr. Sarah Hajjar (physiotherapist), Michel Khalil (logistics).

The selected players are Ali Haidar, Ali Mezher, Jad Khalil, Sergio Darwish, Gerard Hadidian, Karim Ezzeddine, Amir Saoud, Hayk Gyokchyan, Ali Mansour, Karim Zeinoun, Youssef Khayat and Omari Spellman.

Lebanon will face Spain at 9:30 PM on Tuesday, July 2 and Angola at 6:30 PM on Thursday, July 4. It is noteworthy that Latvia, Spain, Greece and Puerto Rico will host the Olympic playoff, which includes 24 teams, with 4 teams qualifying for the Olympics and joining the countries that have already qualified for the Olympic entitlement at an earlier stage.
