The Israeli army claimed responsibility on Wednesday morning for a targeted strike carried out the previous day in Babliyeh (Saida), which killed Hussein Ali Mezher, the official in charge of fire management in the Zahrani sector of Hezbollah’s Badr Unit.

In a statement posted on his X account, the Israeli army’s Arabic spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, said the victim had planned several rocket attacks on Israel and had taken part in rebuilding Hezbollah’s artillery units in South Lebanon.

Describing these actions as a “blatant violation of the agreements between Israel and Lebanon,” Adraee affirmed that the Israeli army would continue its efforts to “eliminate any threat to the country’s security.”

An Israeli drone also dropped a sound bomb near the town of Maroun al-Ras (Bint Jbeil). At the same time, a patrol from the Israeli army entered southern Lebanon, blowing up a house in the village of Kfar Kila (Marjayoun).
