It’s official: the 24 countries participating in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games now know their opponents in the Olympic Qualification Tournament (OQT).

Lebanon has been placed in Group A of the qualifying tournament to be held in Valencia, Spain. The Lebanese team will face Spain, ranked second in the world, and Angola, ranked 34th in the international rankings. Following the 2023 World Cup, Lebanon is currently ranked 28th in the world.

The match schedule will be announced at a later date, with the matches slated to occur from July 2 to 7, 2024.

Four places at the 2024 Olympic Games will be at stake, one for each winner of the OQT.

Seven countries have secured direct qualification for the 2024 Olympic Games through their performance at the 2023 World Cup: Germany and Serbia for Europe, Canada and the United States for America, Australia for Oceania, Japan for Asia, and South Sudan for Africa. France has also qualified as the host country.

The four OQTs will be conducted as follows: In each group, the top two teams will qualify for the semi-finals, with the winner advancing to the Olympic Games 2024.

Group A: Lebanon, Angola, Spain

Group B: Finland, Poland, Bahamas

In Riga (Latvia)

Group A: Georgia, Philippines, Latvia

Group B: Brazil, Cameroon, Montenegro

In Piraeus (Greece)

Group A: Slovenia, New Zealand, Croatia

Group B: Egypt, Greece, Dominican Republic

In San Juan (Puerto Rico)

Group A: Mexico, Ivory Coast, Lithuania

Group B: Italy, Puerto Rico, Bahrain
