Minister of Information, Paul Morcos, following the Cabinet meeting held in Baabda:

• The Cabinet approved the extension of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) mandate.
• Diplomatic and judicial appointments must be completed as soon as possible.
• The law on the independence of the judiciary will be added to the agenda of the next session.
• Prime Minister Nawaf Salam focused during his recent visit to Syria on the extradition of the perpetrators of the bombings of the Taqwa and Salam mosques in Tripoli, as well as those involved in the assassination of Kamal Joumblatt.
• President Joseph Aoun spoke about the willingness of countries to support Lebanon in its reform process.
• President Aoun confirmed that his meeting with the Emir of Qatar was fruitful, and that Doha reiterated its support for the military institution, highlighting that the country will increase its investments in Lebanon.
• President Aoun mentioned that a Qatari delegation could visit Lebanon next week to discuss the electricity issue.
• The issue of bilateral relations between Lebanon and Syria was discussed.
