Arab Gulf countries on Thursday called for an immediate cessation of Israel’s unrelenting military operations against Lebanon, as Tel Aviv is focused on eliminating Hezbollah’s military and logistical capabilities to remove perceived threats to its security.
The Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, called for an immediate halt to Israeli aggression against Lebanon.
“We have already warned against Israel’s impunity in committing crimes against humanity,” he stated, describing Israel’s operation in Gaza as “genocide.”
He emphasized that lasting peace in the region can only be achieved through the establishment of a Palestinian state.
Similarly, the Emir of Kuwait, Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, condemned the Israeli aggression against Lebanon and the violation of its sovereignty, and expressed dismay over the international community’s failure to stop what he referred to as the “genocide” in Gaza.
Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, reiterated his country’s call for the application of a two-state solution between Israel and the Palestinians.
“We stress the importance of resolving regional conflicts through peaceful and diplomatic means,” he said, urging all concerned parties to adhere to the principle of a two-state solution.
The stated aim of the Israeli operations against Lebanon is to facilitate the return of approximately 60,000 displaced persons from northern Israel.
