An Israeli drone strike targeted a car in Khaldeh, south of Beirut, on Thursday afternoon, killing one person and wounding five others, according to the Ministry of Health.

Preliminary reports indicate that the target of the Israeli strike was Qassem al-Husseini, a member of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

On his X account, the Israeli army’s spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, stated that the individual was “an arms trafficker involved in promoting terrorist plots against Israeli civilians and soldiers, acting on behalf of Iran’s Al-Quds Force,” a branch of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

No immediate information was available about the fate of the targeted individual. The car was first missed by an initial missile but was struck directly by a second after pulling over to the side of the road.
