UNIFIL spokesman Andrea Tenenti denied on Tuesday media reports that the peacekeeping force had informed the Lebanese army, citing Tel Aviv, that “the town of Nabatiye was now within the Israeli army’s targeting zone.”

“We often hold meetings with our strategic partners in the Lebanese Armed Forces to discuss many issues related to security and safety along the Blue Line, and these discussions are confidential,” he said.

In this context, Tenenti specified that “UNIFIL is doing its best to ease tensions and prevent dangerous misunderstandings between the parties (the Lebanese Army and the Israeli Army), in addition to continuing our daily activities along the Blue Line to ease tensions.”

Meanwhile, exchanges of fire between Israel and Hezbollah continued on Tuesday at Lebanon’s southern border.

The Israeli army unleashed heavy machine gun fire towards Labouneh, Al-Alam, and the outskirts of Naqoura and Alma Al-Shaab at dawn.

In parallel, Hezbollah declared, in a statement, that they targeted a gathering of Israeli soldiers in Hounin Castle and espionage equipment at the Hadab Yarin site.

In the morning, reconnaissance aircraft patrolled over villages in the western and central sectors, all the way to the Litani River. Flares were fired at night over border villages adjacent to the Blue Line, as well as villages in the Tyre and Bint Jbeil districts.

Israeli media reported, “At least 6 missiles were launched from Lebanon towards Margaliot in the Galilee panhandle without activating the sirens, inflicting damage to the area.”

Furthermore, it noted that “Hezbollah fired two missiles towards the Margaliot settlement in the north.”
