The Iran-backed Hezbollah claimed to have targeted the Meron military base in northern Israel “for the second time” on Tuesday, in response to “recent assassinations and repeated attacks on civilians” in Lebanon and Syria.

Hezbollah said in a statement that it had targeted the Meron base with “a large number of missiles.”

It had already announced that it had targeted the base on January 6, in retaliation to Israel’s alleged elimination of the number two in the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas in Lebanon, Saleh al-Arouri.
