MP Nadim Gemayel’s visit to the United States took a significant turn as he engaged in high-level discussions at the Department of State in Washington. Accompanied by Mirna Makhoul, head of the media office for the Kataeb region of America, he seized the opportunity to address pressing matters of concern.

Chief among these concerns was the “crisis of electing a President of the Republic and Hezbollah’s dominance over the country,” which Gemayel brought to the forefront. The MP also stressed “the urgent need to find a solution to the problem of Syrian refugees and ensure their swift return to Syria.”

In response to Gemayel’s concerns, American officials reaffirmed their unwavering support for Lebanon and their commitment to “finding a political and economic solution for Lebanon’s complex situation.”

Gemayel and Makhoul explored the department’s museum, where they encountered a historic wooden artifact. This item was once a gift from the late President Bashir Gemayel to the late diplomat Philip Habib.
