Free Patriotic Movement leader, MP Gebran Bassil, said that “in order to preserve the Taef agreement, we must implement it”, adding, “It is our duty to carry out reforms to attract investors.”
Following his meeting on Tuesday with the Grand Mufti, Sheikh Abdellatif Deriane, in Dar el-Fatwa, Bassil pointed out that he will not comment on whether the French initiative for the presidential election has ended or not. “A president who does not have real support will not succeed,” he said.
Furthermore, he asked the Mufti “not to perceive the decentralization negatively, as it contributes to regional development”.
With regards to the Syrian immigration crisis, Bassil said the solution lies in “simple efforts by the security services.”
