With one matchday remaining in the Lebanese Premier League, the tug-of-war between Al-Ansar and Safa for the title continues. Both giants secured victories on Matchday 12, maintaining the three-point gap. Behind them, Nejmeh humiliated Al-Ahed in the clash of the day.
Al-Ansar – Sagesse: Mission Accomplished for the Leader
In Jounieh, the Greens got the job done. An opener from Ali Tneich “Sisi” (34’) followed by a late goal from Hicham Hossameddine (85’) were enough for Al-Ansar to defeat Sagesse (2-0) and hold on to the top spot with 42 points.
Safa’s Attacking Festival
Safa put on a show and dominated the match against Tadamon Sour (5-2), thanks to Boban (4’), Jihad Ayoub (12’), Georges Melki (26’), Ali Kassem (78’) and Islam Al-Batran (90+3’). Safa remains three points behind Al-Ansar (39 pts) and keeps the title in sight.
Al-Ahed’s Collapse
At Camille Chamoun Stadium, Nejmeh had a blast. The men from Manara thrashed Al-Ahed (4-1) with goals from Epengo (13’), Ali Reda Ismail (44’), Mohammad Safwan (51’) and Fadl Antar (53’). Hussein Reda saved some pride for Al-Ahed (75’), who remains 3rd, but with no real hope.
Standings
1. Al-Ansar – 42 pts
2. Safa – 39 pts
3. Al-Ahed – 29 pts
4. Nejmeh – 26 pts
5. Sagesse – 19 pts

Relegation Group: Bourj Crowned
The curtain has fallen on the lower group, with the relegations of Shabab Al-Ghazieh and Baalbeck confirmed. Bourj finished at the top with 39 points after a win against Racing (2-1), followed by Shabab Al-Sahel, who claimed a big win (5-1) over Baalbeck. Abbassiyé completes the podium with a victory over Ghazieh (4-1), though it wasn’t enough to prevent the southerners from going down.
The title will be decided in the final sprint. Al-Ansar has the edge, but Safa is still right behind. In a few days, Lebanon’s champion will be crowned.
