Progressive Socialist Party MP Wael Abou Faour said on Friday that there is a “serious attempt to elect a president,” stressing that “Walid Jumblatt and PSP leader Taymour Jumblatt will spare no effort to achieve a satisfactory result.”

“For the first time in a long time, we can see that the countries that care about Lebanon share the same position,” Abou Faour said.

The PSP MP also stated that “the ball is now in the court of the internal political forces,” which is why “they must show a certain humility in their conditions and demands in order to achieve the election of a president.”

Abou Faour added, “They must work seriously to this end, and then draw up an economic and social rescue plan.”

The Druze MP’s comments came after the municipality of Rachaya and the town’s National Water Committee inaugurated a solar power plant for the wells on al-Yabisa mountain.
