Relevant official authorities were swift to take action following a report of the discovery of medical and hospital waste discarded near the garbage containers at Bawabat El Fawaa in Saida. The waste was traced back to one of the medical laboratories in the city and was removed from the location and transported to a designated disposal site in Sayniq.

It included medical tubes for blood tests, containers for urine and feces analysis, and medical syringes.

The “Popular Rescue Team” in Saida received a call from a concerned citizen reporting a foul odor of blood near a waste container at Bawabat El Fawaa. A rescue team vehicle immediately responded to the scene, where this medical waste consisting of hundreds of tubes, containers, syringes and patient records indicating the name of the relevant laboratory, was discovered.

The appropriate authorities, including the judiciary, security forces and the municipality were notified, and the issue was promptly addressed as the waste was removed from the location to ensure public safety.
