During his Sunday sermon from Diman, Maronite Patriarch Bechara Boutros al-Rai raised his voice again against the presidential vacuum while addressing the pervasive issue of “political, financial, commercial, and ethical corruption in Lebanon.”

He stressed that “everyone is complaining about this” before criticizing the “submission to the people in power, illegal weapons, and personal interests, which blocks the presidential election and destroys the institutions.”

Nevertheless, the Patriarch expressed his belief that Lebanon is being “safeguarded from collapse by a divine force, acting as an unseen protector.”
