According to a diplomatic source quoted by local news agency Al-Markaziya, representatives of the Group of 5 (USA, France, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Qatar) will hold a meeting in early July in Doha, Qatar to discuss the Lebanese dossier and the presidential crisis.

This follows Friday’s meeting between French President Emmanuel Macron and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Paris, and will come after the report which is to be delivered to Macron by his special envoy to Lebanon, former French minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, who is expected in Beirut early next week.

G5, engaged in consultations to help Lebanon break the deadlock which is preventing it from electing a president, met in Paris on February 6 for the same purpose.
