Kataeb party leader, Samy Gemayel, said on Saturday that he would not accept being excluded from the decision-making process regarding the presidential elections.
“We are asking for allowing us to be part of the decision-making process, and for there to be equality and respect for partnership in Lebanon,” he stated during a ceremony honoring the commissioners of security forces in Northern Matn.
Gemayel called for the Lebanese army to be the only party that possesses weapons in Lebanon.
“We do not want to encroach on anyone, nor for anyone to encroach on us. We do not want to confiscate anyone’s freedom, decision, or resistance, and we do not accept anyone to do that on our behalf, as we are open to building a democratic, civilized, free, sovereign, and independent state, and we invite everyone to join us on this mission,” he added.
