Progressive Socialist Party (PSP) leader Walid Jumblatt tweeted on Saturday addressing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, blaming him for attending Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s speech at the Arab League summit in Jeddah on Friday.

In his tweet, published in French, Walid Jumblatt said: “President Zelensky, you fight to defend the Ukrainian people, but you attend the speech of Assad, the executioner of the Syrian people. In conclusion, Biden’s satrap meets Putin’s satrap. How can you justify your actions to the Ukrainian and Syrian peoples?”

Jumblatt included in the tweet photos of US President Joe Biden, Russian President Vladimir Putin, as well as the Ukrainian and Syrian Presidents.

On Friday, the Syrian president participated in his first Arab League summit in more than a decade, marking his return to the Arab diplomatic scene. Syria’s membership had been suspended following the bloody repression of demonstrations against Bashar al-Assad.
