Joanna Wronecka, the UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon, paid a visit to Beirut’s Civic Influence Hub on May 16. She met with Faysal El Khalil, the President of the Board of Directors, and board members Youssef El Zein, Fady Rahme, Mu’taz Sawaf, as well as Executive Director Ziad Sayegh.
The meeting revolved around the Lebanese situation and the vital role played in Lebanon by civil society, whose efforts focus on building a just, free and independent civil state that upholds constitutional rights and embraces good governance.
The meeting attendees expressed gratitude to both the Special Coordinator and the UN for their unwavering support of the Lebanese people across various domains. The discussion also delved into coordination mechanisms with the UN in such a way that aligns with the aspirations of the Lebanese people.
