With the deterioration of the situation in Lebanon, citizens fear shortages of all kinds, particularly of fuel, as the Lebanese cannot forget the summer of 2021 and its oil shortages. However, for the time being, there is no reason to panic, as gasoline and fuel oil are available.

Contacted by Ici Beyrouth, Maroun Chammas, the President of the Association of Petroleum Importing Companies, assured us that “petrol stocks are sufficient for about 30 days, taking into account what is stored in depots and at consumers’ homes.” He added, however, that consumption should remain normal and that shipping lanes should remain open to allow cargoes to be unloaded.

Fadi Abou Chakra, representing fuel distributors, also confirmed that there was no need to panic.
