Hezbollah Secretary General Naim Qassem on Friday urged the Lebanese government to halt what he described as “free concessions” to Israel, ahead of anticipated negotiations between the two sides in Washington scheduled for next week.
In a written statement broadcast on the group’s Al-Manar television channel, Qassem said Hezbollah would “not accept a return to the previous situation,” calling on Lebanese officials to reconsider their approach.
He stressed that “the resistance will continue until the last breath,” underscoring the group’s commitment to sustaining its campaign.
Qassem also sharply condemned the latest wave of Israeli strikes across the country on Wednesday. He claimed that Israel resorted to intensified attacks against civilians to offset its battlefield shortcomings, accusing it of carrying out “bloody criminal acts” across Beirut, the southern suburbs, the south, the Bekaa, and Mount Lebanon.
He added that “for forty days, the enemy has been accumulating failure; its settlements are filled with pain and fear, its plans are confused, and its officials issue daily threats in a loud tone but with little effect,” portraying Israel as struggling to achieve its objectives.
