The Israeli army’s Arabic-language spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, announced on Monday that the military has issued 18 urgent evacuation warnings for buildings it says are used by Hezbollah across several areas in Lebanon.
The warnings state that Israeli forces will soon strike what they describe as Hezbollah military infrastructure, including sites allegedly linked to the Al-Qard Al-Hasan Association, which Israel accuses of financing the group’s military activities and reconstruction efforts.
Residents of buildings marked in red on maps published by the army, as well as those in adjacent structures, were instructed to evacuate immediately and move at least 300 meters away. In Burj al-Barajneh in Beirut’s southern suburbs, residents were told to move at least 500 meters away from the designated locations. The military warned that remaining in the targeted areas would place civilians at risk.
The evacuation notices cover Beirut’s southern suburb of Burj al-Barajneh, as well as areas in the Bekaa and southern Lebanon, including Badnayel, Hermel, al-Laboua, Ain Bourday, Hous al-Ghanam, Mashghara, Deir al-Zahrani, Sultaniyeh, Toul, Habboush, Bint Jbeil, Qana, Ma’roub, al-Nabatieh al-Tahta, Tyre and Deir Qanoun al-Nahr.
The Israeli army said the planned strikes are aimed at countering what it described as Hezbollah’s attempts to rebuild its operational infrastructure.
