The Israeli army issued an urgent warning to residents of southern Lebanon, particularly those in the village of Yanouh, calling for the immediate evacuation of several buildings ahead of an announced strike, according to its Arabic-language spokesperson Avichay Adraee.

In this context, a unit of the Lebanese army entered for a third time one of the threatened buildings in the locality, while the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) and the “mechanism” overseeing the area established contacts with Israel in an effort to prevent the building from being targeted.

“In the near future, the Israeli army will strike military infrastructure belonging to the terrorist organization Hezbollah in order to thwart its prohibited attempts to rebuild its activities in the area,” Avichay Adraee said in a message posted on social media.

The spokesperson urged residents of a building “marked in red on an attached map,” as well as adjacent structures, to evacuate and move “at least 300 meters away,” claiming the buildings were being used by Hezbollah.

“Remaining in the vicinity of the designated building puts you in danger,” he warned.

Incident involving UNIFIL

Earlier, an incident took place between residents of Yanouh and a joint patrol of the Lebanese army and UNIFIL, according to footage circulating on social media. At the request of the “mechanism,” the patrol was carrying out an inspection of the house in question, which was unoccupied and had been flagged by the Israeli army as containing weapons.

No weapons were found during the first two searches, according to available information. As the forces were preparing to leave the area, an Israeli drone flew overhead and UNIFIL received a request to conduct a new inspection, triggering anger from the homeowner, who, along with several others, attempted to prevent the peacekeepers from returning to the site. No injuries were reported.

Naim Qassem warns against “capitulation”

Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem said Lebanon has entered a “new phase” since the ceasefire agreement, stressing that the state is now responsible for safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and independence, while the “resistance” has fulfilled its obligations and supported state institutions.

Speaking at the “Fatimid Gathering” organized by Hezbollah’s Women’s Action Unit, Qassem warned that any “capitulation” would lead to “the disappearance of Lebanon,” amid what he described as ongoing Israeli threats. He also stressed that “we will defend ourselves, even if the sky were to collapse onto the earth.”

On security matters, Qassem said Israeli aggression poses a danger to Lebanon, arguing that the “resistance’s” core mission remains liberation, while preventing aggression falls under the responsibility of the state and the Lebanese army, with the “resistance” stepping in only to provide support when necessary.

He also reiterated Hezbollah’s readiness to cooperate closely with the Lebanese army within a national defense strategy, while rejecting any framework he said would amount to surrender to the United States and Israel.
