While in Lebanon for the commemoration of the assassination of Hezbollah’s Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Secretary Ali Larijani met with Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri at Ain el-Tineh.

After the meeting, Larijani hailed Lebanon as a “friendly country,” describing his talks with Berri as constructive and useful. He praised and endorsed Hezbollah’s initiative toward Saudi Arabia, stressing that the kingdom “is a brotherly country for us.” He also noted that bilateral relations between the two countries were discussed.

Upon his arrival at the airport, Larijani stated that one of the main objectives of his visit was to attend the ceremonies honoring the “martyrs of Lebanon’s defense,” emphasizing that this occasion carries special significance in the current regional context.

Larijani also visited Prime Minister Nawaf Salam at the Grand Serail before leaving without making a statement. At the conclusion of the meeting, Prime Minister Salam stressed that the strength of Lebanese-Iranian relations must be based on mutual respect for each party’s sovereignty and on non-interference in internal affairs.
