The Lebanese Army on Friday continued to collect weapons from Palestinian camps for the second consecutive day, as part of the government’s plan to ensure that arms remain under state control and to bolster security inside the camps.
The handover included various types of weapons, shells, and ammunition, which were received by the relevant military units for inspection and necessary action. The military units are scheduled to receive weapons located inside the Burj al-Barajneh, Sabra, Shatila, and Mar Elias camps in Beirut, in coordination with Fatah.

Palestinian security forces in Lebanon announced the completion of the handover of weapons in six camps across Lebanon, confirming the handover of heavy weapons from the Burj al-Barajneh, Shatila, and Mar Elias camps.
The Director of Public Relations and Media for the Palestinian National Security Forces in Lebanon, Lieutenant Colonel Abdul Hadi Al-Asadi, stated that the National Security Forces today completed the handover of the remaining heavy weapons in the Burj al-Barajneh camp, in addition to those previously held in the Mar Elias and Shatila camps. This completes the handover of weapons in six Palestinian camps in Lebanon.
Al-Asadi emphasized that this step comes in implementation of the joint statement issued by President Mahmoud Abbas and Lebanese President General Joseph Aoun, which led to the formation of a joint Palestinian-Lebanese committee to monitor the situation in the camps and work to improve living conditions there.
The initiative is part of political and security agreements aimed at regulating weapons and strengthening stability in the camps.
On Thursday, Palestinian factions in the southern city of Tyre handed over truckloads of weapons from the Rashidieh, Burj al-Shamali and al-Buss camps.
