Lebanese Army Commander General Rodolphe Haykal visited the families of two soldiers from Hay al-Fikani–Zahle and Majdaloun–Baalbeck, who were killed in an explosion at an arms and ammunition depot in Wadi Zebqine, South Lebanon.

During his visit, Haykal praised the professionalism, discipline and courage of the fallen soldiers, highlighting their readiness to sacrifice their lives. He emphasized that the Lebanese Armed Forces carry out complex and precise missions across the country, particularly in the South, where units operate under difficult conditions amid ongoing Israeli attacks.

He also commended the patience and determination of the soldiers’ families, noting their trust in the army and their willingness to offer their finest sons in defense of Lebanon. “The army is a stronghold and the first line of defense for all Lebanese, and its steadfastness is one of the most important pillars of the nation’s resilience,” he said.

Haykal reaffirmed that the military leadership takes pride in its martyrs, honors them and remains committed to their families, stressing that the army will continue fulfilling its duties despite all challenges.
