The League of Civil Servants announced on Tuesday evening the continuation of its strike on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of this week, denouncing the government’s inaction in response to its demands, even those that “do not incur any cost to the state.”

In its statement, the league criticized what it described as the government’s “hostile” stance, accusing it of refusing to grant civil servants their most basic rights and offering only empty promises “with no real impact on the ground.” As a result, the strike will continue on a partial basis, with public offices only responding to humanitarian emergencies.

The league reiterated its main demands: canceling or revising the “perseverance” criteria; increasing family allowances by a factor of 60; immediately increasing salaries by decree, pending a broader salary reform law; and regularizing contractual and daily workers, with full rights guaranteed.

“We are not saboteurs, but defenders of dignity,” the statement emphasized, urging colleagues not to accept any administrative files except for emergencies. The league also apologized to citizens and asked for their understanding, highlighting the difficult conditions civil servants are enduring. It condemned the government’s clientelist practices, accusing it of continuing to appoint administrative officials based on political power-sharing and partisan favoritism.
