Minister of Agriculture Nizar Hani met with the head of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), General Aroldo Lázaro, to discuss measures facilitating farmers' access to agricultural lands located in sensitive border areas.

The initiative, launched following communications initiated by the UNIFIL commander, has now received official approval. It will be implemented through coordinated efforts between UNIFIL, the Lebanese Army and the Ministry of Agriculture, aiming to safeguard farmers’ rights and security while strengthening their presence and resilience on their land.

The Ministry of Agriculture urged farmers who own land in restricted zones to reach out to their respective regional offices to begin the necessary administrative steps to regain access.
