The head of the Amal Movement’s executive body, Mustafa Fouani, issued a directive prohibiting party members from engaging in any provocative actions, particularly “motorcycle rallies,” that could disrupt public stability or “contradict the movement’s principles.”

The circular, issued on Tuesday, emphasized the need to respect the privacy of all Lebanese people, regardless of sect or region.

It stated, “it is forbidden for all party members to participate in or carry out any provocative popular movement that contradicts the directives of party leadership, including motorcycle rallies, sectarian slogans or actions that endanger public stability.”

In addition, the leadership warned that any member violating the circular will be held accountable and could face expulsion from the movement.

The movement’s decision came following Sunday’s provocative parade by tens of pro-Hezbollah and Amal bikers brandishing Hezbollah flags, roaming mainly Christian and Sunni inhabited Beirut neighborhoods and shouting “Shia Shia” while making victory signs.
