Wave of Congratulatory Messages to President Aoun
President Aoun received additional congratulatory messages on Friday from several foreign and Arab leaders.

The President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, received additional congratulatory messages on Friday from several foreign and Arab leaders, recognizing his election and affirming support for Lebanon during his term.

Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturian extended his congratulations, emphasizing Armenia’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties with Lebanon. He highlighted that relations between the two nations are rooted in “historical friendship and mutual respect.”

For his part, Italian President Sergio Mattarella expressed Italy’s unwavering support for Lebanon, particularly through its contribution to UNIFIL, to uphold the country’s sovereignty, stability and territorial integrity. Mattarella expressed hope that “under President Aoun’s term, Lebanon will prove to be a space of coexistence and pluralism.”

Bulgarian President Rumen Radev conveyed his belief that Lebanon will overcome its current challenges, adding that Aoun’s leadership will strengthen Lebanese sovereignty and unity.

Furthermore, Finnish President Alexander Stubb reaffirmed Finland’s commitment to supporting Lebanon’s efforts toward political stability and development, noting Finland’s active role in UNIFIL.

Slovak President Peter Pellegrini voiced confidence that President Aoun, in collaboration with the Lebanese government, will achieve security and stability.

Similarly, South Korean President Choi Sang-mok also sent a congratulatory message, expressing optimism that Lebanon will continue its path toward unity and progress.

Kuwaiti Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled al-Sabah and Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah al-Ahmad al-Sabah joined the list of Arab leaders congratulating President Aoun on his election.

On a different note, President Aoun congratulated former Lebanese basketball star Fadi al-Khatib on being nominated as one of the nine candidates for the FIBA Hall of Fame Class of 2025. “Many young athletes consider al-Khatib a role model in sportsmanship and competitiveness,” Aoun remarked, adding that his achievements have brought pride to Lebanon on the global stage.
