On the 11th anniversary of Mohammad Chatah's assassination, several political figures paid tribute to him.

Mohammad Chatah, a leading figure in the Cedar Revolution, was killed in a car bomb attack in downtown Beirut on December 27, 2013. He was an ambassador to the United States, Minister of Finance and senior advisor to former Prime Minister Fouad Siniora.

Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri spoke on Friday of “his ideology based on moderation and openness,” which “remains a roadmap for our national action.” For many years, Mohammad Chatah was a key advisor to the Hariri family. “We also remember the student Mohammad Chaar, who fell with him,” reads Hariri's X account.
