At least “one Lebanese soldier was killed and eighteen others wounded, some of them seriously” in an Israeli strike on Sunday, shortly before noon, targeting a Lebanese army checkpoint at Amriyeh, located between Tyre and Naqoura in southern Lebanon, the troop said in a statement.

Teams of rescue workers and firemen from the Lebanese Civil Defense have arrived at the scene of the attack, which was severely damaged.

This comes as escalation continues between Hezbollah and Israel in several Lebanese villages, particularly in South Lebanon, where ground operations are intensifying.
