Tensions continue to escalate between Hezbollah and Israel in southern Lebanon, while strikes also continue to target the Beqaa and extend to other areas.
Attacks on the Beqaa
For the first time, an Israeli balloon, accompanied by an active drone presence in the Beqaa region, flew over the villages of Baalbeck in the eastern Lebanon mountain range.
An Israeli raid targeted the village of al-Ain in the Beqaa on Wednesday, killing three people.
Situation in Southern Lebanon
Israeli warplanes struck the Deir Qanoun En Nahr triangle on Wednesday, causing significant damage to properties and shops. Additional airstrikes targeted al-Hoch, Yohmor al-Shaqif, and Arnoun.
Civil defense teams recovered seven bodies from under the ruins in the town of Byut al-Siyyad following a night raid.
At dawn, Israeli warplanes also hit villages in Saida and Iqlim al-Tuffah, with artillery shelling on Shaqra and Wadi al-Sulouqi near Qabrikha.
The Israeli Army’s Arabic-speaking spokesman, Avichay Adraae, said on X that the Army had eliminated Hussein Abdel Halim Harb, “commander of a Hezbollah battalion in the Khiam region, who was responsible for carrying out and launching numerous operations toward towns in the Galilee, including Metula.”
Tuesday night, an airstrike targeted a building in Shuhaybiyah, resulting in five deaths and numerous injuries, with rescue missions still ongoing this morning. In Barghliyah, a strike on a building and a car killed three and injured seven. An airstrike on the Qadmus neighborhood near Abbasiya also caused three fatalities and three injuries.
Shortly before 10 AM, the Israeli Army issued an evacuation notice to residents of four buildings in Nabatiyeh.
“You are near Hezbollah facilities and interests that the Israeli Army will attack soon,” warned the troop's Arabic-speaking spokesman Avichay Adraee on X. “For your own safety and that of your family members, you must immediately evacuate these buildings and their surroundings and move at least 500 meters away,” he added.
Since last night, Israeli forces have intensified attacks on villages and towns in the Tyre and Bint Jbeil districts. Additionally, surveillance and fighter jets flew extensively over the villages of Tyre and Bint Jbeil, dropping flares over the western and central sectors and as far as the Litani River. Drones at low altitudes over Tyre issued audible evacuation warnings.
Israeli raids also hit Hadathah, Kunin, Majdal Silm, Wadi Jilo, Toulin, Aita al-Shaab, and the city of Bint Jbeil, causing material damage.
Hezbollah
On their part, Hezbollah announced that they had countered an attempted Israeli infiltration on the Ain Ebel - al-Qouzah axis, forcing a retreat after intense clashes, inflicting casualties and losses on Israeli forces.
Israeli Statements
Israel's Home Front Command announced that sirens sounded in Ghajar in the eastern sector along the Lebanese border, warning of a potential drone infiltration.
Attack on Chouf
Rescue operations persist, searching for survivors and missing people amidst the rubble of a building targeted Tuesday night by an Israeli airstrike in the town of Barja. The building was destroyed, resulting in a current toll of 27 deaths and 20 injuries, mostly women and children.
Early Wednesday morning, rescuers pulled out three bodies — a woman, a child, and a man — and managed to save a young boy found alive beneath the debris.
