Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati received an invitation from the Saudi King, Salman bin Abdulaziz, to participate in the joint Arab-Islamic Summit, which will take place on November 11th in Riyadh.

The invitation was delivered by the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Beirut, Walid Boukhari, during a visit on Tuesday to the Grand Serail.

According to the text, the extraordinary summit in Riyadh aims to "affirm Arab and Islamic solidarity" in the context of the expansion of the Gaza war to Lebanon and "the spread of the crisis' effects to the countries of the region."

Furthermore, the objective of this joint meeting is to "put an end to the Israeli aggression and work towards a just solution to the Palestinian issue, ensuring the right of the brotherly Palestinian people to establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital."

King Salman also emphasizes in his letter the will of the "Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and a number of brotherly Arab and Islamic countries to adopt a firm stance against the heinous crimes committed" by Israel.
